First Grade News
November 2, 2007
Dear Families,

This week in the news...We have been working on using quotation marks to read with expression in reading workshop; writing numbers, addition and subtraction problems; and staying on topic in writing.  We are all such smart 1st graders!!

A Special Thank You!
A very special thank you to all of the families that made our Halloween Party such a success!  Everyone had a great time, the treats were awesome, and the costumes were so cute!

Bethlehem Bazaar:
We are in charge of the Vegetable and Fruit stand.  We are going to need a few things for our stand as well as volunteers.  Please see the sheet and mark down anything you are willing to bring or do.  I will send home a confirmation sheet next week letting you know which thing(s) you are in charge of. I am also sending home a costume pattern to make at home for the bazaar.

Thanksgiving Basket
: I am sending home a copy of the sign up sheet for the Thanksgiving Basket.  Please bring these things to school on the Tuesday November 20th.

Homework:  I have decided that there will not be any homework due while I am gone.  Next week I am going to send home activities to do with your child including sight words, sunshine math, and reading to work on instead of the weekly homework packet.

Have a great weekend!
