First Grade News
Mrs. Rosted's Class
March 7, 2008
Dear Families:
We have been learning about place value, counting money, compound words, and matter.  We've also been working on our responses at church.  Please encourage your child to participate in Mass.

Next week we are going to be buddy reading with the fourth grade, learning about geography and land forms, we will hear some fun Irish stories, and of course, Paleo Joe will be coming to teach us all about dinosaurs!  To top it all off, hopefully we can catch a leprechaun on Friday!  It should be a great week!
Leprechaun traps: I've had a few questions regarding how to make the leprechaun trap.  I have done this project for the past 4 years and have seen everything from a "trap door" in a cereal box to extremely elaborate designs.  Just follow the rubric and let your child lead you in what he/she thinks will trap the leprechaun and mostly...have fun with it!

Upcoming Dates to Remember:
March 9:  Spring forward on your clocks!
March 10th: Home & School meeting
March 13th: Paleo Joe is coming
March 21-24th: Easter Break
March 25th: Easter Party
March 26th: Donuts with Dad

Have a great weekend!
Nicci Rosted
