Dear Families, This week in the news...we have been learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and how his peaceful work made life better for so many people. In math we've ended our unit on equal shares, shapes, and symmetry. Next week we will start the unit on time. In reading we've been learning about contractions and consonant blends such as th, ch, and sh. In science we've been learning about polar bears. |

Homework: The timelines are due on Wednesday...this is one of my favorite first grade projects. I can't wait to put them up in the hallway! Next week I will not be sending home any homework other than to read for at least 15 minutes a day. Please use this time to work on the family project for Catholic Schools week.
Centers: I am changing how we are doing centers. We are going to do centers 2-3 days per week. Tues-Wed. will be Language Arts centers and Thursdays will be Math centers. I am hoping to get several volunteers to come in each day so that our lessons can be more meaningful. Please see the volunteer sheet coming home for February.
Report Cards go home next week! Have a great weekend! Nicci Rosted
