| Dear Families: Happy Leap Day! It has been a busy week in first grade. We've been learning about teeth and how to keep our teeth healthy, number patterns and skip counting in math, and reviewing contractions and silent e in reading. Check out www.starfall.com for a great reading site for first graders! |

| Read to Feed: Our school is participating in the Read to Feed program where we changing the world by reading books to help end world hunger. Our class has decided that we'd like to 'buy' a water buffalo and chickens. Our goal is to get sponsors and read enough books to buy both animals. Those animals will help a family in need. In order to meet our goal, we need to read enough books to earn about $11.25 per person. This will take the place of the book-it program in March. Happy Reading! Easter Party: Can you believe that Easter is only 3 weeks away?! Please see our donations/volunteer sheet for our Easter Party. On a personal note: I am sure you have already heard...we're expecting a baby! We were shocked and excited to find out that we were pregnant. The baby is due in August. Please keep us in your prayers for a healthy baby. Have a great weekend! Nicci Rosted |
