Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid is one of the most popular and important ingredents in face washes. This page will explain what Salicylic Acid is made up of and what it does.
The chemical formula for Salicylic Acid or hydroxybenzoic acid is C6H4(OH)CO2H. This element is prepared commercially by healtinh sodium phenolate with carbon dioxide under pressure to form sodium salicylate, which is then treated with sulfuric acid to make salicylic acid
Salicylic acid is used to help slow down the shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging. It breaks down blackheads and whiteheads and also helps with dandruff, psoriasis, calluses, corns, and warts.
