| Prayer | ||||
| by K. Leigh | ||||
| What is the magical connection between our God and prayer? | ||||
| What is the mystery, that convention | ||||
| Saints do everywhere. | ||||
| Their pungent cries of remorse and shame | ||||
| Heard by God the same. | ||||
| The battlecries they often wage for | ||||
| Lost ones to come in. | ||||
| The silent whispers into the wind | ||||
| That strengthen a heart. | ||||
| The fervent, feverish nightly meetings | ||||
| Spent with heavy hearts, | ||||
| Chained with believers who are aware | ||||
| Of the need for prayer. | ||||
| 'And what do our prayers do?' we wonder. | ||||
| Sometimes they change the heart that prays. | ||||
| Sometimes they protect. | ||||
| Sometimes they open doors and block ways, | ||||
| Sometimes they are used | ||||
| By God to show His power today. | ||||
| The mystery is 'wait'. | ||||
