Peace, be still
he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
"Peace, be still." And the wind ceased, and there was
great calm.
Mark 4:39
rushing clouds, driven by angry thunder,
lightening darts across the sky;
somewhere hidden, churns a silent wind,
mounting in fury;
the adventure unfolds.
the sun is covered in a blanket of clouds,
not a ray is seen.
heavens' flood gates burst forth,
waves crash in the wind's irritation,
thunder and lightening dance in harmony.
silent, the gatekeeper approaches,
the storm rages on, unawares;
gently, he caresses the gate key,
his voice pierces the storm; a mighty hand rises
"Peace, be still!"
He brings forth the key, to contain the rain
with a great breath, the wind chases away the clouds
lightening and thunder, shamefully hide in their depths
the waves cease, the water becomes like glass;
all is quiet for the fishers of men.
