I work in a store.
I check out groceries;

Registers need cleaning.
Sweeping helps the floor.
Trash needs emptying.
And there's so much more!
Rearrange the candy.
Stand in front and smile.
Speak to every customer.
Help them find an aisle.
Look up unmarked prices.
Replace broken items.
Double bag glass spices.
Never take a tip.
Memorize the pricc codes;
And every procedure...
From changing receipt tape
To locking registers.
What pains me most is
When people don't come.
