I often ask "What is love?"
And am often answered like this:
"Love is a gift from above"
Or, "Love is all wrapped up in a kiss."
I'll tell you what the meansing of love is, my friend.
A bloody man hanging on a tree,
A rolled away stone, an empty tomb,
A little rejected baby,
And a virgin's womb.
"A bloody man", You ask, "Hanging on a tree?
A stone, and an empty tomb?
So? Who cares about
A virgin's womb?"
The man on the tree
Came from the womb,
God came as a helpless baby,
And 'twas His empty tomb.
The King of Heaven was born in a cave,
Out of a virgin's womb.
Everything for us He gave,
Even an empty tomb.
He was mocked and bruised,
And hung on a cross!
He was betrayed and abused,
For pathetic, sinful us.
He conquered death,
Now it's sting is gone.
For, in a single breath,
Christ Jesus won!
And all for us He was beaten and bruised,
And all for us the Savior died,
And all for us He was betrayed and abused,
And all for us the Savior was crucified.
So, when I say to others,
"What is love, my sisters and brothers?"
They blindly reply,
"Love is a person, or a state of mind."
Oh, no, my friends, that is not love,
For the one, meaning
Was sent from above,
Broken, bruised and bleeding.
The meaning of Love is Jesus!!!
