For the Culmore Kids
by K. Leigh
Here is a simple poem
For the kids I met this summer.
When we all left for home,
The kids thought, "What a bummer!"
And I wanted to say for them
A special prayer,
One full of compassion
And Your care.
For Alyssa and Amir
May they grow to be sweet.
And may they well take care to
Give God their hands and feet.
For Mahad who loves soccer
And loves to hear his name.
May he become a rocker
And find in God no shame.
For David and Deborah
The mischeivous pair.
May they learn to show God's love
To people everywhere.
For Carlos and Mario,
Two boys I never met.
May their faith in God grow
As prayer becomes habit.
For the two Jennifers who
Gave their hearts to Christ.
May all that He will do
In them not be compromised.
For Christian and his sisters,
For Danny and David,
May they survive the twisters
Thrown by the evil one.
For Umaar and brother Zain,
For little Faiza too,
May God help them with the pain,
Which they may share for You.
For Franklin and Carina,
Brother and sister true.
May you wash their hearts cleaner
Each time they pray to you.
For Kiara, Erica,
Carina and Kenia,
May they always worship ya
And always lean on ya.
For Cindy and Leslie
May they at peace with You be.
For Sabina and Hassan,
May all un-love be gone.
For Gladis and Pedro,
May your love they always know.
For Sandra and Ismet,
May they give You all they get.
For Juan and Stephanie,
May they learn to pray to Thee.
For Elena and Chris,
May they know what true love is.
In Edwin and Carlos,
May You plant a seed that grows.
And for all the children Lord,
May your love be their reward.
