How to solve an equation
Here is the equation
-6a+3=-5a+9

-6a+3=-5a+9
Given Problem
-6a=-5a+6
First take the 3 away from one side but you must take it away from the other side too.
-a=6
Then take -5a away from both sides by adding and it leaves you with -1a or -a
A=-6
To change it from -a=6 to a=-6 just multiply -a and 6 by -1

Here is the next example...how to find slope!
This equation will give you slope
(Y2-Y1)
(X2-X1)
(12-8)
(6-2)
First you plug in the coordinates
4
4
Then you subtract the plugged in numbers
4
 4
Then you have the slope
The answer is 1

This is a problem that is given and you must find the slope

The origin and (-3,-5)
The origin means (0,0) so now you have 2 sets of coordinates and can use the last equation to get the slope
(-3,-5) and (0,0)     (0--3)
                              (0--5)
You set it up like the problem before and just do what the signs tell you to do
3
5
This is the slope and you can leave it in this form
