2(-3a+5) = -4(a+4) Use the distributive property to remove the parentheses. -6a+10 = -4a+-16 Next, add 16 to each side to remove your negative. -6a+26 = -4a Add a positive 6a to each side to remove one of your variables. 26 = 2a Dividing each side by 2, will solve the problem. 13 = a A=13 is your answer.
y = mx+b To solve for X, add a -B to each side. y-b = mx Next, divide each side by M. y-b/m = x So, X = y-b/m
(-2,4) with a y-intercept of 8 To convert to slope intercept form, do y(2)-y(1)/x(2)-(x1) (8-4) / (0+2) Your slope is 2. y=2x+8 This is your answer, because 2 is the slope and 8 is the y-intercept.
