Exploring Algebra With Eric

#1   4-7x = 1-6x

          +6x     +6x

        4-1x = 1

           -4  -4

        -1 =   -3

        -1    -1 = 3

                 x=3

1.  To start you add 6x to both sides

2.  You subtract 4 from both sides

3.  Then you divide

4.  A negative times a negative equals a positive

Y= mx + b

Solve for X

Y-b = mx

m    m

y-b = x

m

1.     Take y- b =mx and divide by m

2.   Y-b divided by m = x

3.  Mx divided by m= y

With slope = 3 through (2,9)

y-9=3(x-2)
