Lindsey's Algebra 2 PAGE!!!

Hello welcome to Algebra II.  This is Lindsey's explanation of Algebra II forms and equations. I hope you enjoy Bart's "behind" the scenes look at some equations Mrs. Felz class learned.  Mrs. Felz really has been "crackin" down on us.  SO we are finally ready to let everyone see what we have learned. I hope you enjoy!!!!
    solving linear equations
           LINEAR EQUATIONS

4x-13   =   35                 This is a linear equation.
   +13   =+13           You solve a linear equation
4x         =  48        by getting the 'X' by it self &
4                 4       getting the answer by using the
       X    =  12    same steps on both sides.

          solving literal equations
            SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM

          y=mx+b

y-b  = x     solving for x
  m

THIS IS SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM.   YOU MUST GET THE "X" BY IT'S SELF FOR YOU SO SOLVE THIS EQUATION FOR " X".  TO DO THIS YOU MUST DO  THE FOLLOWING:
     *SUBTRACT "b" FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE EQUATION.
                      -B+Y=MX
     * THEN YOU MUST SEPARATE THE "M"AND THE "X".  TO DO THIS YOU MUST DIVIDE BOTH SIDES OF THE EQUATION BY "M".
                       -B+Y=X
                           M
       * NOW YOU HAVE AN EQUATION THAT YOU SOLVE FOR "X"!!
     Writing the equation for a line
                      POINT SLOPE FORM

Give an equation for a line with slope=3 through (2,9)
                Answer-  Y-9 = 3(X-2)

                 HOW DID I GET THE ANSWER??!!
                                         EASY!!!!
* M=SLOPE
         THE FORM LOOKS LIKE THIS  { Y2 - Y1 =  M( X2 - X1 )
*SUBSTITUTE IN THE LOPE FOR "M"
          Y2 - Y1 = 3( X2 - X1 )
*NOW! TAKE YOUR POINTS< (2,9) > AND SUBSTITUTE THEM IN FOR YOUR  Y AND YOUR  X1 !
           Y2 - 9 = 3(  X2 - 2 )
               NOW YOU HAVE GOTTEN AN EQUATION FOR A
           A LINE USING POINT SLOPE FORM!!
                       SEE HOW EASY THAT WAS!!!
