Linear Equation Example
Solve for x:
9x-3 = 27-x
   +3 = +3
9x = 30-x
+x =    +x
10x = 30
10      10

x = 3

Answer: x = 3
 First add the 3 to both sides. The 3 will cancel out.  After you have completed that you have to  elimate one of the x's. Now take the -x and add it to the 9x on the other side. The x's will cancel out.  After that is completed, now divide 10 by 30 to get x. The 10's cancel out and the answer is 3.
