1.) 6(2+y)=3(3-y)        12+6y=9-3y                                        -12       -12
      6y= -3-3y
      +3y    +3y
         9y=-3 
          -3   -3
          y=-3
 
 
First you have to distribute both the six and the three into the parenthesis on the sides of the equal sign that their on. Next, get both y's on the same side of the equal sign.
Then get the regular numbers on the opposite side. Add the y's, add the regular numbers and divide by the number that's on the side with the y.  There's your answer.

2.)8(3y-3)=2(6y+3)
    24y-24=12y+6
          +24       +24
          24y=12y+30
          -12y  -12y
           12y=30
            12   12
            y=2.5
