Equation #1 2
(Linear Equation)1.) q= 3q - 4
x2 x2 x2-3q -3q 2.) 2q= 3q - 8
-1q= -8 -1 -13.) -1q= -8
q= 8 Explanation 1.) The first thing to do is to get rid of the fraction. Multiply everything by 2, except the 3q which is multiplied by 1 because that is the same as multiplying it by 2.
2.) After the fraction is gone, the problem is easier. You want to get the variables on the same side of the equal sign by adding/subtracting like terms, so minus the 3q from itself and the 2q on the other side. You get -1q.
3.) Last, since you have the variable on one side and the whole number on the other, just divide each side by -1 to get the variable by itself, you get q = 8.
Equation #2 -A -A
(Literal Equation)1.) 1/2(d1+ d2) = A + BT :find B
T T 2.) 1/2 (d1+ d2)-A = BT
1/2(d1+ d2)-A = B
TExplanation 1.) Since you are trying to get B by itself, you want all the other variables on the other side of the equal sign. Start doing this by subtracting A from each side.
2.) After the A is gone you are only left with B x T, the only way to get rid of the T is to divide. Divide both sides by T, and you are left with the equation that finds the answer to B.
How to Get a Linear Equation in Point-Slope Form Point-Slope form : y1-y2= m(x1-x2)
1.) The line has a slope of 3 passing through point (2,9).2.) First plug the slope into the equation.
y1-y2= 3(x1-x2)3.) Next, you know that x = 2 and y = 9 (because you are given the point (2,9) so you plug the 9 in for the y2, and the 2 for the x2.
y2-9=3(x1-2)
