Equations using variables

3/2(4x-3)=2[x-(4x+3)]
First you need to get rid of the parenthesis.  To do this multiply them by the numbers on the left of them.  You will find it easier to get rid of the fraction first, so multiply all of the problem that IS NOT in parenthesis or brackets. You should get the problem to the left. 3(4x-3)=4[x-(4x+3)]
Next you need to get rid of the parenthesis and brackets. Then all you have to do is simplify it. 12x-9=4[x-4x-3]
12x-9=4x-16x-12
12x-9=-12x-12 move the x's to one side of the =
To simplify the problem move the X's and numbers from one side of the problem to the other and get ?x=??(+ or -)?? add 12x to both sides and add 9 to both sides.
24x=-3 which is equal to x=-3/2 or -1/8

Scientific/literal equatoins

V=Vo + at  solve for A

First you want to get rid of the Vo so you would subtract them because they are held there by an addition sign. V-Vo=at
Next you want to get rid of the T and since it is held there by multiplication you will have to divide it on both sides. V-Vo/T=A

Slope Equations

Slope = 3 through (2,9)

There are 3 forms of slope equations:  For the first one, which is the easiest if your problem looks like this, your problem will look like this.
Y-9=3(X-2)

Next you wnat to solve it until you get x and y on the same side and this is the second form of slope equations. Y-9=3X-6 you would move the X over to the Y to get
-3X+Y=3 (you can't have a negative X or fractions of X in this equation so you will have to multiply by a negative one to get the answer.)(3X-Y=-3)

The thrid and final form is another easy one and you will have to get Y=something. 3X-Y=-3 to get the Y on the other side you will just move the Y over to the side with the -3 and move the -3 over to the side with 3x to get (Y=3x+3) and thats all there is to Slope Equations.
