HOMER'S 5-STEP PROGRAM TO SOLVING EQUATIONS

If you are looking at this website right now,that means that you are currently having problems with solving equations.Each of the following equations will take you step by step in how to solve equations.

    This first equation is a Linear Equation.

     INSTRUCTIONS        EQUATIONS

Step One: State the problem Step One:1.45T-5=2(T-3);solve for t.

Step Two:use the distributive property and distribute the 2. Step Two:1.45T-5=2T-6

Step Three:subtract the 2T in order to get the final t. Step Three:-.55T=-11

Step Four:divide -11 by -.55 in order to solve for T Step Four:-.55T/-.55=-11/-.55

Step Five:BOX IN ANSWER!!!! Step Five:    T=20

In case you did not understand the equation above,here's another equation,so you can redeem yourself.Here is just a regular equation where you have to find either standard slope,point-slope,or slope-intercept form.

INSTRUCTIONS EQUATIONS

Step One: State the problem Step One: find the standard slope for y=5/2x+b and the points (2,3)

Step Two: label the points x and y ;then substitute the numbers for the letters Step Two:2=x and 3=y; (3)=5/2(2)+b

Step Three: solve. Step Three:3=5+b

Step Four:in order to find b, plug in your answer for b and solve Step Four:3=5+b;then 3-5=-2 and 5-5=0 b=-2

Step Five: BOX IN ANSWER!!!! Step Five: 5x-2y=4

Step Four:Finally, you divide both sides by h to get b2 by itself Step Four:2A/h-b₁=b₂
