	Dear Rye, Hope all is well with you this beautiful day. I need some advice on a situation. I have a birthday party coming up for a good friend of mine. I've known her for years and I would so love to be at the party. Problem is, very recently I told someone, a friend whom I have also known for years, that I had a crush on him. The guy, not returning my feelings, has basically ignored my existence from the time of me telling him how I felt. He, (The crushee) will be at the party for my best friend. I have it in my right mind not to even go to the party in fear of conflict and tension between my girl friend and her birthday party, and my best friend whom I have a crush on. What should I do? Sincerely, Right Mind **************** Dear Right Mind, If a friend ignores you after you over a little confession that you have a crush on him, my advice would be you don't need a fickle human like that as your friend at all. Granted, it is good to give that person some space to maybe come around and talk to you about it. But You have to know when to say "When." Perhaps, this party could be an ice breaker for you two to patch up any odd feelings. He very well may be interested but cannot bring himself to say it. That is one way to go. Another would be to make appearance and stay no longer than a half hour to be there for your friend and leave. Always good to be the bigger person. The other, which would be my advice? Forget the jerk, real friends, especially ones that have been around for a few years if they are in deed your true friends they will not put you aside so quickly. I'm sure your girl friend will miss your presence at the party. Only you know what is best for you, but if i were you, Right Mind? I would do the most obvious. Amy Grant once wrote "Because some things you live with, and you never let it show. Sit on the shores of love, and just let it go." In your case, letting go is not an easy thing. You have a friend that has given up on even speaking to you... you deserve better my friend. A lot better. I would maybe catch up with an old friend that you haven't seen in a while who does appreciate someone as sweet as your nature. Good Luck to you. Rye*
