Mr. Rodberg's Shakespeare
This part of the site stems from my work at the Teaching Shakespeare Institute 2006, at the Folger Shakespeare Library....a great, intense experience.

The first project was a
research paper comparing the marriages in "Julius Caesar" and "Macbeth" to advice manuals from Elizabeth and Jacobean England. The ideas aren't very original, I realize, but they were to me. With other teachers, I created teaching ideas using two primary sources: The Crowne Conjugall and James I's Basilikon Doron.

I also created three lesson plans: one for
Julius Caesar 3.1 (with a model and a handout); one for Macbeth 3.4 (with a handout); and one for a sonnet of your choice.

This is not a picture of Shakespeare. But Stephen Dedalus did have an interesting theory...
