Introduction

In the book Malcolm X he makes a good argument through pages 164 to 166. The theme is the way people became muslims. Also because racism was a big issue in the years of Malcolm X life. The purpose is to show that muslims do certain things. Another reason is to show that white men are the devil. Malcolm X uses great examples to prove these reasons.

Types of Arguments

Malcolm X in his book uses different types of arguments to prove his argument. The first argument that i pick was argument by authority. He explains that blacks believed the messenger to the people was black. He writes " The messenger of Allah. "He was, they said, "a black man, like us." {p.164}. This argument is strong because he shows that peolpe believed that the messenger was black. Another type of argument that was use was argument by analogy. He explains that the white man is the devil, by writing "the white man was fast losing his power to oppress and exploit the dark world." {p.164}. This is a strong argument because the expert has credibility that the white is the devil. Malcolm X shows great credibility to evidence of different arguments.

Implicit and Stated Assumption

In the book there were alot of implicit and stated assumption. One stated assumption was that Allah was powerful to muslims. He explain this by saying, " THe key to muslims is submission, the attunement of one toward Allah." {p.165}. This is a stated assumption because he tells directly who was powerful to muslims. Another type of assumption was implicit, the assumption was that negros were brainwashed. He explain this by saying, " This white man's Christian religion further deceived and brainwashed this negro." {p. 166}. I believe that this quote was said that all negros was brainwashed. This proves that stated and implicit assumptions gives different perpectives of things.

Kinds of Evidence

Malcolm X uses empirical evidence by saying, " The devil white man, down through history, out of his devilesh nature, had pillaged, murdered raped, and exploited every race of man not white." {p.165}. I believe this is emperical evidence because the white man did brainwash a race that was not white based on the imformation in the book. Another type of evidence used was anecdotal, he uses this by saying "Reginald explained that pork was not eaten by those who worshiped in the religion of Islam and not smoking cigarettes was a rule of the followers of the honorable Elijah Muhammad.{p. 165} This is anecdotal evidence because Malcolm X stopped smoking and eaten pork because he wanted to become a follower of Elijah Muhammad.

Fallacies

Malcolm X use the fallacy double speak by saying, " The devil white man cut those black people off from all knowledge of their own kind." {p. 165]. This is a Example of double speak because Malcolm X believed that whites brainwashed black from their own religion. He also say that the whites cut them off from thier their past culture. That showed that blacks had nothing else to do but believe everything that was told to them by whites.

Credibility

Malcolm X was very credible on African American history because he explains what African Americans went through. He also use different kinds of examples and evidence that we now know are true. "Human history greatest crime was the traffic in black flesh when the devil white man went into Africa to murder and kidnapped to bring to the west in chains." {p. 165}. This is a great explanation because he shows something that is already true.

Conclusion

The main parts of the paper was to show the rules and leader of muslims. Another part was who really was the creator of the people. Finally it show the background of the history of the people the race instead of white. Based on the information i believe that Malcolm X made good arguments and used great examples in the book.
