| This page is for my father-in-law's TTA. We found this incredible vehicle at a car show in Verona, PA. The owners needed to consolidate some toys as they needed cash for a new venture. We mulled it over for about one-and-a-half weeks, and decided to call about purchasing it. Fate decided that this car was for us. She was to have been in Auto Trader the Tuesday after the show, but A.T. goofed. When it hit the following Tuesday (the day we called) the wrong phone number had been published. We met the owners the next day, test drove, inspected and agreed to purchase the vehicle. Now came the decision as to exactly who was going to purchase it. We already have two Firebirds, and three would have been ridiculous! Our older 'Bird is a 2.8L V6 1987 base model. She is in great shape, looks great (red with silver bottom and orange and black factory striping along the red/silver interface) and only needs some minor cosmetic work. So if we bought the TTA, the '87 would be sold. Our eventual goal is to have ONE of each generation. But Dave Robinson, my father-in-law (no, not the basketball player!) called the same Tuesday telling us (without knowing we had been talking about buying it) that he could not get the car off his mind. So we deferred to him with the "first right of refusal" if he ever decides to sell it. In other words, we let him buy it (with the condition that we get first shot at it)! Pictures of this awesome machine have been taken, both alone and at the Western PA Chapter of the National Firebird and TA Club "All Firebird" show at Wright Pontiac in Wexford, PA on 9/10/00. All three of our 'Birds were be there (1987 base 'Bird, 1989 TTA and the 2000 TA with Ram Air). It was an awesome day (hot and sunny, and the rain held off until later that evening!) in Wexford, PA. About forty cars were there, and one couple had both a 1969 TA and a 1999 30th Anniversary TA! My biggest suprise was that only one GTA was there (two if you count the TTA that Dave has). The photos are in and can be linked to below. We also received our information packet from Pontiac Historic Services, and we added three pages of information. Follow the links below! For great information on the TTA's, please link to Russ Salerno's TTA Page. It is also listed below and on my main page. |
