1987 Firebird Photos
The following pictures are of our '87 Firebird.  She has been a great car, and soon will be brought back up to show standards.  We are thinking about dropping a 5.0L V8 into her, as the 2.8L V6 is pretty anemic.  She will not be worth much as a show car (even with matching numbers) with that engine!
At the all Firebird and Trans Am show.  Tops are off.  The front is NOT damaged - just a reflection!
Another shot from the show.  Even though she is just a base model, she sure looks good!  Hard to tell, but the factory paint and striping scheme was silver on the bottom, red up top, with black and orange striping that had a clear section to allow the silver to show through.  The orange was just at the beginning of the red, so it went (from bottom to top) silver, black, silver, orange, red.  I miss that sort of thing with today's "monochromatic" schemes.  Even the badging and birds are the same color as the body on our 2000 TA...  Original dished intelace alloy wheels.  She has a 4 speed auto, air, T-tops, rear defrost, tilt wheel and cruise.  15" wheels with 215/65 tires.
A nice shot of the vanity plate.  We just got this plate in May2000.  I cannot believe that it was available!  You can see the striping colors a little better in this shot.  Diane bought this car in February 1989, and she had 14,000 miles on her.  Now she has about 86,000.
I call this shot Pontiac City!  Clockwise from lower right are:  1994 Grand Prix SE (Red), 1998 Grand Prix GT (White), 1987 Firebird (Red) and 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am (White).  Quite a nice checkerboard, huh?  The cars to the left are ours, and the cars to the right are Dave's (my father-in-law).
