I WILL write a novel! Whether anyone will actually read it, beyond JD and my friends at college or whether it will ever get completed or published who can tell? The future is ours. Let�s make it good.

Treatment

I�m not sure what to do in terms of treatment. Everyone on the course says that I am meant to outline what I will be writing before I start. This is pure logic but I am not renound for logistical thinking or anything like that. Here goes with a little list of my charactors.

Charactors:
God. His real name is Raymond. He was unemployed until he saw the advert. He gets paid �5 a page. Lazy, drunk, student of bullshit. Dim, cheap, fashoin victims. Unpopular at school etc. Pos delve into his background with a psyciatrist chair.

Kate
Advisor/ foxy woman God sleeps with.

Goebells
Minister for propaganda. important symbolic role in inforcing the tune of the religion and supressing the competition. Designs the cover of the bible. Shady past.

Charlie
Master behind Gods world and a wealth of godly experience.

Some angel who wants to be an actor. Another one is a frustrated comedian.

Adam
Tory.

Eve
Ugly bitch.

Devil
the devil is a clown.

So, I�m a writer again. Hopefully it wont dominate my life as it has done in the past. This is a slow, mellow project, spanning several months and possibly longer than that. At the moment I�m typing things up and getting used to my new keypad. I will long for these days.

Outline:

It all starts with our main charactor, Raymond setting up a new universe. This has to be thought through properly in terms of setting so it will make sense. I could have a magical cloud village arrangement in which all the Gods live and his is the rundown part of it. This would be controversial and i want the �true God� to me mentioned but clouded in mystery like in real life. Beating around the burning bush. The firecrackers arcing in the sky. Let�s dance. - strange that.

As I see it from there, before creation, we need to know this slobby God charactor. I�ve never reALLY created a charactor before and am perpectually unsure how to spell the word. The nearest I have is the hapless adventures of Made in Hong kong, which is funny in places but two dimentional and flat in others. It�s completly stupid, but salvagable. It is another issue, but I am well further up this road than any other writing venue - I thought i�d got there a couple of times. This is a new journey. Here�s where I�m meant to be mapping it out. But I�m trundling on about other creative avenues.

The essence of this book is to mix religious parable type stories, budget versions with events in social history with a twist. These are results, largely of Gods budget cuts that have happened in the past. The budget cut of Adam being gay is the greatest example of this, as from then on all male charectors are gay apart from the average 1 in ten. This means that in order to reproduce God has devised a series of elaborate procedures involving people being drugged and dressed up to be like men. It�s an idea. The whole thing means that the policeman scenario written in 1994! fits quite snugly into the mess.

I�ve worked out that God should just leave the situation and go and join a rock band. This invokes great images of God having better things to do than look after us. He might have wandered off in serch of an elusive career change.

I have an embryic �tame east� document written last febrary and attached to a bit later on and a provisional middle ages section written ages ago. It just peters out so there needs to be a new flow of narrative emulating from this head. Other material (i�ll stop in aminute as I�m getting bored) includes various sections of the start of the universe and an Adam and Eve chapter that has almost matured into adulthood.
This was gonna result in there being loads of people with torches tied to hats and some people being brighter than others. That probably confused you futher, but some of the elements would have been explained before this chapter. In one version, at the start, there�s a description of the queue at the building society. This included clay pigeon shooters and olympic athletes, hence he holds up the bank with these bizarre weapons.

Overall the �god on a budget� idea has some potential but I don�t wear overalls. That was a crap joke. Wish me luck!
