The telescope I use is a Meade 10" SCT mounted on a Losmandy G-11. I use an Olympus OM-1 35mm camera to take the shots and scan the negatives with an Acer Scanwit 2720s scanner. I process the images using Adobe Photoshop. I just recently purchased an SBIG ST4 autoguider and am looking forward to taking longer exposures with it.
In this picture you can see my typical photo setup. I have
my Taurus Tracker II attached to the OTA using a 2" back. Attached to
that is the device I use to focus with. It is an Olympus camera body with
a ronchi screen fixed at the film plane. A diagonal sends the image
through an eyepiece to magnify. Once the image is focused I simply replace
with my Olympus which has the film in it and take the picture. Note the 80
mm scope riding piggyback which I used to take some of my shots with.
This picture shows the mirror locking screw located next to the focus knob I use to minimize mirror shift.
Here are a couple of accessories I use. The one on the
left is my home made dew heater. I soldered together some resistors, glued
them to a strip of laminate and it fits nicely in the front of the scope.
The second picture shows the power supply I use (I have two of these). It
has two 12v outlets and can even jump my car! I got these at SAM'S club
for $50 each.
