Structure of Ancient and Medieval History Class
Welcome!
requires using tactics and strategy from that time period that we learn about in class.

Student groups will be required to research specific categories (civilization's history, political structure of the civilization, etc.) in the library.  A powerpoint presentation will then be created and presented to the class.

Students will record the information from the powerpoint presentations presented by every group in their "civilization log".  This will serve as our textbook and will be the bulk of the material they are tested and quizzed on.

The performance of the group to manage their finances, foreign policies, economics, and cultural and artistic development will be 20% of their grade.

This web page is designed to provide parents and students with basic information to what is being studied in my classroom.  Contact me if you have questions
Economics is the main foundation for my classes.  Everything we learn is tied back to money and how it influences and is used to shape how ancient and medieval societies functioned.

This elective class does not have any textbooks.  As a result, a lot of what the students will learn will come from their own research and presentations done in the library (45% of the class).

Students will begin by being broken into one of seven groups.  While in these groups they will role play a particular civilization by controling its finances, its expansion policy, its military troops, its economic growth, and its cultural and artistic development.

Student groups will use the computer to simulate ancient battles as their expansion
