| Niccollo Machiavelli was born in Florence, Italy during the time formally called the renaissance period. Machiavelli produced a book called the Prince that consisted of 26 short chapters of analysis and information which was written to shock and reeducate the people of the renaissance. Machiavelli was interested in atonomizing politics just like Copernicus wanted to atonomize science. Niccollo Machiavelli is considered by many historians as a consumer rather than a producer when it came to his thoughts in the Prince and his every day life because he wouldnt produce new information to the people he would just summarize and offer his opinion. The Prince also provides a guide for present and future tyrants and totalitarians which obviously are important to history. One idea that Machiavelli had for maintaining political power was that a leader had to know when to eliminate his morals and good thoughts. Another idea was that a leader needed good arms specifically civilian arms and in order to get civilian arms you would need a republic. He also said that a strong leaders actions were never guided by good motives. |
