(or Something to Kill Time)
In a subway in Seoul
In the event that you are reading this and havn't already met me, you have my pity for having a tad more spare time than I.  But to friends and strangers alike, welcome!  I have arranged for you a collection of  my favorite things, that you may be entertained!  Appreciate my efforts or you can just leave.  Ha!  Just kidding, please view everything...my apologies to those seeking a "Lars has a cool website" shirt, but the online giftshop near the exit has been revamped...no more "Lars" gifts...just commercial swill.
If you didn't know the basics about me...
My real name is Lars and, just so you know, my last name isn't "Noxt", it's just a pseudonym.  Anyone who calls me, and they are few, call me Lars, but you can refer to me as "Poet Laureate of Houston, Texas".  Haha!  Bask in my conceit!

I'm a short 5'9" with brown hair and hazel eyes.  As you may have noticed in the picture up top, I wear eye glasses.  But I only wear them cause they make me look nerdy.  And everyone knows that nerdy = super sexy.

I used to work for the US Army, which everyone knows isn't a job, but a self-inflicted prison sentence.  After six years of service capped off by six months in Iraq, I took my walking papers and entered the civilian world with a glee usually reserved only for small children and the  insane.  I now work at a "corporate paperback" bookstore in the Woodlands, Texas.  It's fine work, very low-stress,  but I am taking college classes because I've been led to believe it is the best way to get a good job.  Good meaning "well-paying".  Haha.

In the free time I have(when I'm not typing up silly websites) I like to read.  Lately I'm trending toward classic 20th century fiction, but I also read history, politics and philosophy.  Magazines I like are Harper's, Atlantic and National Review.  Oh, my favorite book so far is Hemmingway's "A Farewell to Arms".  Further, I write poetry and am concurrently working on a novel.  To be published is my little dream.

I also like art.  I go to the museum in Houston when I can, but I have a few books of art to keep me occupied when I get the itch to stare at paintings.  I don' have a favorite artist, but my favorite movement is 19th century French impressionism.  I also like to draw, not that I'm great but I'm pretty good, and it does sooth me when I'm stressed.

Finally, the last, and least accomplished of my hobbies, is guitar playing.  I have a Fender Strat electric.  So far the best I do is strum Eagles tunes on it.  Oh I like to sing too; that's the reason I began playing in the first place.

Ok, now you know what goes on in my head most of the time.  The rest I spend sleeping.

Opening Disclaimer:
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for a hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free;
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such liberty.

"The world is his who can see through its pretension.  What darkness, what stone-blind custom, what overgrown error you behold, is there only by sufference - your sufference.  See it to be a lie and you have already dealt it its mortal blow."
