Top Me Twice Cake


1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (13 1/2 oz.) can crushed pineapple (juice and all)
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Grease bottom of 12X8 inch pan. Combine sugar, vanilla and eggs in large bowl. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. At low speed, add flour, soda, salt and pineapple; mix 1 minute. Pour into pan. Sprinkle with mixture of brown shgar, coconut an dpecans. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes. Just before cake is done, prepare sauce. Paur over warm cake. Cool before serving.

Sauce

Melt 1/2 cup butter in small saucepan

Add:

1/2 cup light cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Stir together until well blended and sugar is melted.

Pour over cake.
