Pecan Surprise Bars
Mix until crumbly and press in a 9 X 13 baking pan:
1 box yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 cup)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg
1 cup chopped pecans
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
Combine and beat 1-2 minutes
2/3 cup reserved cake mix
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cup dark syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
Sprinkle with pecans and bake 30-35 minutes at 350.
Cool before cutting into squares.
This tastes like pecan pie.
