Ice Cream in a Baggie!
This is a great treat when camping or outisde on a hot summer day.
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup half-and-half
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 sandwich sized Ziploc baggie
1 one gallon sized Ziploc baggie
1 tablespoon of salt (table salt will do but coarse rock salt works best.)* * * * *
Put the milk, half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla inside the small bag and seal it. Put the ice and salt in the larger bag and place the smaller sealed bag (filled with the ingredients) inside the larger bag, removing excess air. Let your child shake, smuch, squish and toss it--but be careful not to break the bags open! In 5-10 minutes they will have delicious homemade ice cream - hand them a spoon and let them eat it right out of the bag! (you can also add chocolate syrup, small M&Ms or chopped fruit to the mix if you feel adventurous!)
