Grandma's Gingerbread

Nothing smells better than this cake and it's so simple to make. And if you really want to bring back memories - remember to eat it hot. I usually bake this in a 9 x 13" pan. I remember one holiday I think Lisa and I kept the oven going nonstop with pecan pies and gingerbread. No one could get enough of either one.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter - softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup Grandma's Molasses
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup strong coffee

Directions:

Cream to-gether butter, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredients, mix until blended. Pour into a greased and floured baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done (toothpick comes out clean). Optional: dust with powder sugar before serving.

Number Of Servings:Depends on how you cut the servings. In my household - it makes about maybe 6 servings if I'm lucky.

Preparation Time:From start to finish 1 hour.
