E Z Apple Dumpling Recipe from Bernice

1 Large Granny Smith Apple
1 Can of Crescent roll dough (Make sure you get the 8 - they make a can with 6)
1 Stick of real butter (melted)
1/2 Cup sugar
6 ounces of Mountain Dew

Spray 9 X 13 baking pan with Pam. Peel and core apple, slice into 8 pieces. Roll one slice in each crescent roll. Place into baking pan. Mix melted butter with the sugar and cinnamon and pour over the apple dumplings. Pour the 6 ounces of Mountain Dew over this. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. I like to baste the dumplings with the juice about halfway through the baking time. I also cut the sugar in half and use diet Mountain Dew to cut back on the sugar consumption.

This makes a nice alternative to doughnuts for a weekend brunch.
