Friends and Clients of Stump Bros.

The regular business hours of Stump Bros. Lumber are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm with special Saturday morning hours via appointment . Clients can either have their lumber delivered to their home or business site or they can just pick it up at the sawmill. Stump Bros. Lumber specializes in "roughcut" lumber (also known as "roughcut building material"), which is often used by local citizens for building picket fences, cabinets, and porch steps, as well as other useful things. Our average yearly production of roughcut lumber is 700,000 board feet. We also cut pallet cants, coal mining timber, firewood, and the always popular custom sawing. Most of the logs that we use to cut our timber come from private loggers in the area. Through the years, Stump Bros. has done business with area loggers such as D.A. Wolfe Forestry Enterprises, Gesner Logging and Sawmill, Gary and Heath Wolfe, Wolfe Logging of Schuylkill Haven, and local citizens.

For the last 35 years, we, at Stump Bros. Lumber, have been the only suppliers of "smoke wood" to Seltzers Bolgna Co. of Palmyra, PA. We deliver 250 cords of smoke wood to Seltzers each year. Currently, the Seltzers Bologna Co. is the largest Lebanon Bologna Co. in the United States. On a local note, when the historic "Covered Bridge" was restored in Rock, PA (Rock is a village in the Pine Grove Area), we cut the lumber for the new floor of the bridge.

Besides these things, Stump Bros. also provides sawdust as a product for the public. Many local farmers buy the sawdust and use it for animal bedding during the fall and winter seasons. The sawdust is also used at the local motorcycle race track (The Flying Dutchmen in Pine Grove) to cover the ground where the riders race. Luke Zechman, a regular worker and maintainer of the day to day operations at The Flying Dutchmen, picks up the sawdust. The sawdust helps the ground retain its moisture and allows the racers to have a smooth ride on the track. Also, over the past four years, Stump Bros. has been selling dried lumber to the public. Many high school students in the Advanced Woodshop Program at the Pine Grove Area High School have come to Stump Bros. and purchased all kinds of dried lumber to use to make their shop projects. Several of PGAHS's top shop projects were made with quality Stump Bros. Lumber. One thing's for sure, when a business or a family deals with Stump Bros. Lumber, they can always expect good service and a good finished product. If you have any questions or comments about Stump Bros. Lumber Co., please feel free to contact us via e-mail at [email protected]. Thank you!
