This College was started in the year 1963 by Sri Mahadevappa Rampure
Founder President of HKE Society and a great socialist and Parliamentarian.
It stands as a monument to his vision, dynamism and hard work.
OBJECTIVES OF M.R. MEDICAL COLLEGE.
1. To conduct MBBS and various Post-Graduate medical courses to bring-out quality Doctors to meet the present and changing expectations of the people.
2. To improve health status of the people of this region by offering

ACCOMMODATION
M.R.Medical College Provides hostel facilities both for Boys & Girls separately. Hostel rooms are spacious , well furnished and Ventilated. Canteen facility with good food is also available.
STAFF
There are well trained & experienced teaching staff with sufficient number of years of teaching experience having Post-Graduate degree qualification in their subjects from recognised Medical Colleges.
ELIGIBILITY FOR MBBS
1) He/She must have completed the age of 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission.
2) The candidates shall have obtained not less than 50% marks in aggregate
in the Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in the qualifying
examination of 10+2 with English as one of the subject with 50% of marks.
However in respect of scheduled Caste/ Category-I the minimum marks required
for admission shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for general candidates.
ELIGIBILITY FOR P.G.COURSES
A candidate who has passed the MBBS degree examination after pursuing a study in a Medical College recognised by the Medical Council of India and affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University, or affiliated to any other University, recognised as equivalent there to and has completed one year compulsory internship in a teaching institution or other institution recognised by the Medical Council of India, and has obtained permanent registration of any State Medical Council shall be eligible for admission provided the candidate for degree/diploma has not failed more than four times in Final year MBBS subjects viz. Medicine, Surgery, and obstetrics and Gynaecology provided further that in respect of SC, ST, candidates should not have failed more than five times in Medicine, surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology .
SELECTION OF STUDENTS TO MBBS & POST -GRADUATE COURSES
As per state Govt order in force. 15% of the total number of NRI/other MBBS seats are with management of the college for distribution. A few P.G. seats are available with management.
DISTRIBUTION OF MBBS & POST-GRADUATE SEATS
As per State Govt order inforce 15% of the total number of MBBS seats are with management of the college. Some P.G. seats are with management for distribution.
FEES
Current fees is as per state Govt order. Students also need sufficient money to cover accommodation & living cost.
THE COLLEGE BUILDING
M.R. Medical College is a four storey building covering 1,20,000
Sq.Ft Area and houses various pre
and para Clinical departments and also department of Medical Education.
Emphasis in all the departments is on applied and Clinical aspects of subjects and
all Departments of Anatomy , Physiology , Biochemistry , Pathology ,
Microbiology , Pharmacology , Forensic
Medicine are geared to provide hospital services besides teaching and research.
Each department is well equipped with modern equipments. The College building
also houses the Office of the Dean,Registrar,the examination hall, Library
with modern facilities like Computer,Audio Video facilities.Having in mind the
importance of library in an educational institution the management has
