This modification changes the original gta3 weapons to my scratch made new ones.

Weapon Changes:
---------------

Bat = Crowbar
Colt.45 = Desert Eagle .50AE (Gold)
Uzi = KG-9
Shotgun = Battle 7
AK47 = MP5
M16 = Sig551
Rocket Launcher = M79
Sniper Rifle = PSG-1
Molotov = New Molotov Model
Grenade = L2A2 Grenade
Flamethrower = New Flamethrower Model.

INSTALLATION
-------------

Installer:

Click the install button, easy as that, although it will replace misc.txd and hud.txd so any custom textures you had added to them will be overwritten.  A backup of all the files replaced will be put into the backup folder in your gta3 directory so you can get custom textures back by extracting them from the old file and adding them into the new one.

Programs required:

A gta3 texture tool (txd tool / txd gold / reshack, available on most gta3 websites)

*Make a backup of all files you replace so you can easily revert back to the originals*


# Extract all the files with winzip to a temporary folder.

# You will end up, within this folder, two folders named hud and textures, plus two files: weapons.dff and weapon.dat.

# Copy weapons.dff into "GTAIII directory"\models\generic overwriting the original.

# Copy weapon.dat into "GTAIII directory"\data overwriting the original.

# Open your gta3 texture tool and open MISC.txd found in "GTAIII directory"\models.

# Here there are two types of texture: wheels and weapons, locate the first weapon texture and replace with the corresponding texture found in the texture folder.  ie. shot_all is replaced by the texture shot_all.bmp and so on untill all the weapon textures are replaced.

# Close MISC.txd and open hud.txd.

# Find the first weapon icon and replace it with the corresponding texture found in the hud folder.  *Notice how each texture has an alpha texture, you must replace these also.  For each texture there are two textures to replace: the coloured texture and the greyscale alpha.

*Note* If you have a problem replacing some textures replace them with a white image first then replace them with the new textures, this is something to do with how gta3 reads textures that use alphas.

# Once all the hud textures and alphas are replaced close your txd editor.

# Load up GTA3, enter the get all weapons cheat (gunsgunsguns) if you have to and go on a rampage (not mandatory but recommended).

Thank you for downloading my first gta3 modification and I hope you enjoy the change this brings to the game.

Legal Stuff:

This modification took roughly 4 weeks in total to make, all models are scratch made using z-modeler and textured using various pictures found on the internet. 

I do not have a problem with this file being hosted on other gta3 websites as the mod was made for the gaming public, although what I do ask is that I am properly credited. All you people who upload mods to the likes of gta3.net as your own, by changing author names and readmes are sad, make your own mods.
