Changing World Book Distance Calculator Settings
To customize the World Book Distance Calculator settings, click the Settings icon or choose the Hide/Show Settings Drawer from the Tools menu. The Settings drawer opens. To close the drawer, click the icon again.

To change the transparency of the globe, drag the Transparency slider.

To make the globe spin faster or slower, move the Spinning Speed slider to the left or right.

To set the light reaching the globe, from the full daylight to the deepest night, drag the Day/Night slider. This feature works if only Day/Night mode is turned on. To turn on Day/Night mode, click the Day/Night icon.

To adjust the size of markers that appear on the Globe, move the Location Markers slider to the left or right.

To stop location markers pulsation, deselect the "Pulse markers" checkbox (click it so that the checkmark disappears). To turn pulsation back on, click the checkbox again so that the checkmark reappears.

When you are in the Flat Map View, you can change settings that are specific to this view.

To hide the location markers, deselect the "Show markers" checkbox so that the checkmark disappears.
To show location markers, select this checkbox again.
To make markers smaller, deselect the "Large markers" checkbox so that the checkmark disappears.
To make them larger, select this checkbox again.

Changing World Book Distance Calculator Preferences

Using World Book Distance Calculator Preferences, you can choose to retain some of the World Book Distance Calculator settings after quitting and to have locations centered on the Flat Map View automatically.
To open the Flat Map View, click the rightmost button of the View control or choose Flat Map from the View menu.

To change World Book Distance Calculator Preferences, open the World Book Distance Calculator Preferences dialog by choosing Preferences from the World Book Distance Calculator application menu.

To retain World Book Distance Calculator settings after quitting the application, select the checkboxes next to the settings you want to retain, which are listed in the upper part on the World Book Distance Calculator Preferences dialog.

To have locations centered automatically on the Flat Map View, select the checkbox at the bottom of the World Book Distance Calculator Preferences dialog.
