Plate Boundary Presentations

 

Create a Power Point presentation that answers addresses the following standard:

 

"Plate tectonics operating over geologic time has changed the patterns of land, sea, and mountains on Earth's surface.  As the basis for understanding these concepts students will know... b) the principal structures that form at the three different kinds of plate boundaries.

 

Your presentation should have...

 

1. A title slide that has the name of the assignment and your name.

2.  Slides that in words and pictures explain the following

What are tectonic plates?

What are plate boundaries?

What is a divergent boundary?  Where are they?  What forms near these boundaries?

What is a convergent boundary?  Where are they?  What forms near these boundaries?

What is subduction?

What is a transform (also known as a parallel slip) boundary?  What forms near these boundaries?

What is the San Andreas Fault?  What kind of boundary is it?  Where is it?

3. A summary slide that puts all the information together.

 

Print out your power point presentation.

 

Optional:  Save your presentation as a web page.  Upload it to your website.  Make sure it doesn't use up all your memory by using images that are too high in resolution!!
