1. Everything is made of chemicals.

2. Chemicals can react to form new chemicals.

3.  Food we eat is chemicals

4.  candle burning, iron rusting. are examples

5.  Electrons are involved

6. Water is made of hydrogen and oxygen, H2O

7.  Iron reacts with the oxygen in the air.

8.  In some reactions energy is given off.

9.  When oxygen and hydrogen are recombined we get lots of energy and a little water vapor.

10. Sinbad is made of chemicals.

11.  Car engines combine gasoline with oxygen.  Small controlled explosions.

12. Explosions are chemical reactions.

13.  everything is held together with chemical bonds.

14.  Fire is chemicals mixed with oxygen in the air

15.  Make a fire extinguisher: Baking soda & water.  Vinegar in a smaller container.  Mix together get carbon dioxide gas.

16. Sodium and Chlorine:  Breathing Chlorine gas would kill you.   Sodium burns in water.  But combined they form salt.  We need salt to survive.

17. Fireworks – pyrotechnicians make and use fireworks.  An art form.  Chemicals and metals – metals create twinkle salt creates color.  Strontium yellow, Aluminum white.

21. Reaction: when two chem combine to form a new chemical.

22. Photography involves chemical reactions.  Stopper stops the reaction.

24. Nobel prize: awarded to people. Alfred Nobel got rich off dynamite.  Money is given to people who do great things for humanity and the arts and sciences.

25. Cold packs.  Chemicals mix react, and take in energy, making it cold.

26. The periodic table of the elements.  92 elements.  All chem made of them.
