May 23rd (Friday) is the date for the tasting party. I am asking that the children bring in a dish popular in their state or representative of their state. This will also serve as their lunch for the day. The dish will have to be large enough to allow everyone to have a taste (large or small). They can bring in a main dish, an appetizer, or a dessert. The food will need to be brought in by 11 o’clock on May 23rd. I will also need a parent volunteer to assist in the set up of the food. If the food needs to be warmed in the oven, we will have access to an oven. I will provide plates and utensils for eating and a beverage. You will need to supply serving utensils. The children will need to tell me what they are bringing, so that that we will have enough to eat (not all desserts). This will be a exciting way for us to celebrate the end of the MCAS tests and the end of their long, involved state project.
Please have the recipe available (if applicable), for the children to create a state recipe book.
