Electricity Study Guide

conductors
- something that allows electricity to flow through creating a complete closed circuit. (iron, steel, graphite, brass, some alloys)

insulators - something that doesn’t allow electricity to flow through and blocks the path creating an open circuit. (rubber, wood, plastic, dirt, glass)

Troubleshooting list:

1. Battery is dead - (you need to create a simple, simple circuit to check this)

2. Filament is broken in the build.

3. Glass dome on the build is cracked allowing air to get in.

4. A wire is loose or not connected.

5. The battery is in the holder the wrong way.

6. The bulb isn’t screwed in all the way.

7. Metal isn’t touching metal. (the insulation is touching at a connection point (open circuit)
