Student recognition

Means for recognition besides a grade, a chunk of baklava would be wonderful, except that some folks don't like baklava, and some schools don't allow food in the classroom, so, a pyramid poster with the names of each group written on a star placed on the pyramid would be cool. Include individual names with each group.
Pitfalls to Avoid
During Introduction of Lesson
As Students Work in Teams
As Work is Reported and Recognized
Don't kill the topic. Ancient Egypt is cool, so focus on that positive aspect while keeping an eye on structure
No one should hog the show, and no one should shy away from discussion and participation. Keep students on task as well.
Applause is always good. Baklava is yummy, but not everyone likes it. Well-considered grades as well. Stay focused on goal: how ancient Egypt influenced history.
