Only hours ago at the time of this article’s writing, the 7th (and final installment of) the Harry Potter series of books was released in the United Kingdom at midnight local time (7:00 pm EST). The news has broken and the fate of the boy wizard has been learned by eager readers on both sides of the Atlantic now.
That’s right, Harry Potter, the boy who lived, is dead.
Harry dies in a tragic murder suicide along with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger during their ultimate (but unsuccessful) battle with the Dark Lord Valdemort.
The author of the book, J. K. Rowling, in her selfish attempt to forever end the series and prevent future authors from picking up the story, found the perfect way to protect her characters….by killing them.
The news of Harry and his friends’ death was taken badly by many of the book’s younger readers. So far, almost 100 suicide attempts (34 successfully) have been made by teenaged readers after learning the shocking truth.
