Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Balls
Description
Here's an easy-to-make breakfast treat, ideal for sharing with a group.
This recipe makes about 25 breakfast balls.
Ingredients
- 16 oz. package of pork sausage (e.g., Jimmy Dean brand)
- 8 oz. coarsely shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 c. Bisquick mix
- 1-1/2 c. milk
- 1 tbsp. butter
Preparation
- Grease a 10" x 15" glass baking dish with non-stick spray or oil.
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Directions
- Brown the sausage in a large skillet, then set aside.
- Mix the Bisquick and milk in a large bowl. Add the milk slowly and stop
when a thick, sticky consistency is achieved.
- Add the browned sausage to the bowl.
- Add the shredded cheese to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Form the mixture into balls of a little over one inch diameter and place
in the baking dish.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or just until the balls become firm and the
exposed pieces of cheese begin to brown.
- Remove dish from the oven.
- Melt the butter in a small dish or pan and brush it on the tops of the
balls.
- Serve hot!
