Responsibilities of the Planner
- Consult the Worship Planning Calendar
- Plan for the entire service
- Identify and contact the Worship Leader
- Contact others who may have parts in the service
- Specify details of all music (number of verses, repeats, keys, and sources)
- Communicate the plan to the Worship Team one week prior to the service
Guidelines
- Call the Pastor to discuss the sermon theme
- Try to plan around one theme
- Strive for continuity (avoid confusion)
- Plan for smooth transitions between elements
- Use variety to stimulate thinking
- Instruct the congregation to sit/stand as appropriate
- Limit the number of new songs per week
- Discuss "unusual" ideas with the Worship Team first
- Pray with the Worship Team before the service
