“For one unshaped one in the community, the hearts of the wise will suffer pain – as if  a pool had been filled with rose-water, and a dog fell in, polluting it.”

Education has a long way to go.  Schools were once a place to learn the three "Rs".  Now they are social and global realms where kids learn more than just to read and write. They learn about rules, relationships and the never-ending list of "isms".  They learn how the system works and how to work the system. While schools are trying to push character education and modeling traits, I would just like students to know a little more about themselves and the world around them.  My PowerPoint presentation Struggle Against Intolerance is just that.  It briefs over a history of intolerance and prompts a lively discussion about solutions.  Watch out though!  I like to play with emotions and make you feel unsure of yourself.  So, when you feel your mind bending and twisting, you can either run or just let your mind grow.

One thing you will definitely learn is how history tends to repeat itself.  In these eye-opening harsh-reality days, doesn't that lesson seem almost too relevant?!

Obviously, I would love to show it at your school or to your audience, contact me if you would like that yourself!

My Education

Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland, USA

In May of 1999, I earned a Bachelors in English Education.  Throughout my undergraduate work, I maintained a 3.25 GPA. Working currently on my Masters in Administration and Supervision, I have been able to maintain a 3.90 GPA.  Albert Einstein once said, "The imagination is more important than knowledge."  I would tend to agree, but try telling a board of hiring directors that when they're looking for qualifications.

Allegany College of Maryland, Cumberland, Maryland, USA

In May of 1997, I earned an Associates in Political Science.  While maintaining a 3.90 GPA, I tried to make myself as integral a part of Allegany College as I could.  I was elected Chairman of the student council. I tutored students in various subjects. I even designed a new tutoring program and a workshop for tutors. For hard work and success, I received many awards and scholarships including the Most Outstanding Tutor and the Excellence in Philosophy awards.

James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA

My high school career included attending Fort Hill, Fauquier, Central, and James Monroe.  That's right!  You read it right.  Four different high schools.  That's all I have to say about that!

My experiences in Fredericksburg have inspired me to write so many things, especially my experiences on the Rappahannock river.  From body surfing the rapids to partying on the bank, I've pretty much covered it all.  But, not much can be said for my schooling.  In June of 1988, I graduated with a 2.85 GPA.  Four days later, I was in the Marine Corps. Anything else to be said on that subject would have to be what I've been able to do since.
