Shri. Rajesh Srinivasan, a young prodigy in music started playing mridangam from his tender age of four. His devotion towards mridangam is enviable. He has to his credit innumerable performances right from school days and has won several awards and first prizes representing the state. Notable amongst them are the TAL-MANI award bestowed by the SUR SINGAR SAMSAD and the SOUTH ZONE CULTURAL CENTRE AWARD in 1993. With music running in his blood and his assiduous years of practice, dedication and devotion to his Art and Guru has proved the saying, ART ANTICIPATES LIFE;. |

He had his initial lessons under Shri. N H Jayaraman and then had his further training under Shri. L V Krishnamurthy. Since 1985 Shri Rajesh is under the able guidance of Padmashri. Palghat R Raghu for his advanced training in the art of playing mridangam and kanjira. |

|
|
He accompanies almost all the leading musicians from India. To name a few, he has had the pleasure of accompanying leading musicians like Padma Bhushan Dr. Balamurali Krishna, Shri. T N Krishnan, Dr. N Ramani, Shri K S Gopalakrishnan, Shri. Madurai G S Mani, Shri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Smt Veenai E Gayatri, Shri O S Thiagarajan, Shri P. Unnikrishnan, Smt. Nithyasree Mahadevan, Sangeeta Kalanidhi Shri T K Govinda Rao and Smt .Aruna Sayeeram |

He also accompanies senior percussionists like Shri. Guruvayur Dorai, Shri. Mannargudi Easwaran, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shri. T H Vikku Vinayakram, Pandit Bhavani Shankar on the kanjira and has also had the opportunity to accompany his Guru, Padmashri Palghat R Raghu on the mridangam. A versatile mridangist he also accompanies leading dancers like Ms. Meenakshi Sheshadri, Ms. Hemamalini and Ms. Madhurita Sarang in all leading dance festivals in the Country. |

In the year 1997 he had the pleasure of touring with Ustad Zakir Hussain to the United States of America and participated in the "WORLD MUSIC PANORAMA |

He has formed his own group of eminent & talented musicians specializing in Percussion ensemble / Tala Vadya Kutcheris / Percussion Jugalbandis.The highlight of the ensemble is the blending of Rhythm and Melody using instruments such as Mridangam, Kanjeera, Tabla, Pakhawaj, Ghatam, Morsing, Violin, Flute, Synthesizer, Chenda.
