Valves

On modern drysuit used for scuba-diving 2 valves is always used, an inlet and an outlet valve, the inlet valve is often place on the chest of the suit, and is letting air from the air-supply into the suit, where the air ‘pumps’ up the suit, and prevent ‘suit-squeeze’. The air is also helping keeping the suit warm, the heat from the divers body, is warming up the suit. The valve us operated by pressing a button in the valve, the air is then let into the suit.

The out-valve is normally placed on the left arm, the most important is that the valve can be the highest point on the suit, and let air out. The valve can be either manual for automatic, on the manual type, the diver must press a button on the valve for letting air out, on the automatic type, an outer ring can be adjusted, to let the valve open a a given overpressure in the suit, the automatic valve can also the activated manually.
