The sealing
around the wrist, can be made of either neoprene
and Latex, Neoprene cuffs is warmer in cold
water, but got what is called a memory effect,
when neoprene is stretch, is remember the new
size. Latex cuffs dont got this memory
effect, and its therefor the most used
material for cuffs. When diving in cold or dirty water,
gloves is used, Neoprene gloves can either be
like normally gloves or it can have a sealing
around the wrest, Latex gloves is waterproof, but
got no insulation effect, and they must be used
in combination with wrist rings in the cuffs, on
with the gloves is pulled over. In contaminated
water, latex gloves and wrist rings is always
used.
Under a pair of latex gloves another pair of
liner-gloves must be used to get some kind of
insulation.
Commercial
divers do always use gloves, when they dive for a
long time in cold water, when the water gets
really cold the gloves can be replaced by mitts,
with either 3 or 2 fingers.
